YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT

Youth unemployment is a huge issue world wide Global Youth Unemployment Rate Rising Rapidly, it brings out a lot of depression and worry to a lot of youth. Usually after one has matriculated the question they end up having to ask them selves is what now? and this makes perfect sense because in the world we live in  finding employment is rather difficult if now does not have experience regardless of the qualification on have. My specific focus will be on the youth unemployment South Africa. It is a fact that a lot of people now are concerned about the issue around employment.
what now?

This video explains the solutions that are being implemented within the issue of youth employment.
My team and I ( INSPIRED THINKERS) worked together towards the campaign revolving around the issue of youth unemployment in South Africa. Coming up with ways of minimizing the issue of unemployment was rather difficult as we had to target a specific audience which is affected by this issue. A plan of how to reach out to our audience was drawn and we used FACEBOOK to get our message across that can reach our target audience. The page used on FACEBOOK is called Khutaza die jeug for all youth of all colour. We were able to engage with people such as Sbongumusa from the deep rural of KZN who needed a guide on how he should go about in using his farm experience to create employment for himself and people around him. Working around the campaign helped me to understand the important of writing skills so that the message you are getting across is met without any misinterpretations, I also understand better now that media engagement is convenient because we do not have to knock door to door to engage with the targeted audiences and media engagement is very relevant and also saves everyone time while also getting the message across. The campaign development was also the vital position because it was very important to understand what we want to achieve from the campaign and the matters of how that is done was very challenging therefore creative thinking and brainstorming played a very important part. Through all that creativity we than had to develop an hierarchical strategy so that all things can be in order and that way it was easy determining the actual date by working backwards to see a clear picture of when the campaign will be executed. We were able to execute the campaign on the date determined because of the mutual respect and understanding for all the stakeholders involved

URBAN FARMING

URBAN FARMING

Urban farming is as important as employment creation and the are a lot of advantages that accompany it.Green Gotham this article says a mouthful with regards to the advantages associated with urban farming. I was fortunate to work with a local urban farmer and here is my experience : The farmer I worked with is Mr Elliot Monyobi and he is based at Pimville Soweto, he grows vegetables( spinach, potatoes, tomatoes, beetroots and other). Urban farmers usually face a lot of difficulties because they do not have enough necessary resources that will make their work easier, the reason for this is because they are independent farmers who do not have sponsors to assist in terms of financial needs and resources. Mr Elliot like many of urban farmers do not have resources such a hose pipes, nets, fertilizers and enough water, His farm is also unknown because he does not know how to market it. The local neighbors are the people who know about his farm also the area where he farms is difficult to notice that there could be a farm therefore,my team and I designed a clear poster that will show that within the premises there is a vegetable farm.
Our concern for Mr Elliot's farm is that he did not necessary create financial relationship with the community of which he wanted to serve we therefore, saw it important that we help him create those relations that will help him in creating and having a sustainable profit for his farm through relationships. We wrote a pitch letter to the local newspaper  and sent it to the following email mzwandilek@cityurban.coza  with the hope of getting Mr Elliot's farm published so that a lot of people can be aware of the farm, adding to that we used the 5km radius that will help Mr Elliot to have a sustainable relationship with the community. We where able to work with the nearby Catholic church. We introduced Mr Elliot to the church leader thus a sustainable relationship was created, through this Mr Elliot was given the permission to come to the church every Sunday after the service to sell his vegetable to the church members within the premises of the church.

THE URBAN FARMING TEAM
Working with the team was an overwhelming experience because it took a lot of time when we had to decide on what to do, it was also an eye opening experience as I learned that a lot of hands are better than one because we were able to complete a lot a work within a short period of time as compared to having to do it alone.

social media versus journalists

Social media is actually a nice platform for individuals to share information. Although social media allows everybody to share information and this has changed communication norms within an organisation. CPA UC San Diego University Communications and Public Affairs

How? you may ask yourself that question, well in most cases things especially negative things that are shared by individuals on social media go viral, and creating the crisis management plan within a short period of time is mostly difficult and challenging.

Fact remains most relationships and friendships don’t last anymore because of things that are shared on social media, why?
A lot is expected from you to show your loyalty and if those expectations are not met relationships can be damaged. 4 Ways to Keep Social Media from Ruining Your Relationship

With all that been said how more will social media destroy the organizations or a brand if any individual decides to share a negative message about that organization or the brand?
The black face joke

I believe most people still remember the story of this two students at UP who decided to go to a party painting themselves black, then posted the picture on social media. The picture went viral and this was seen by the black community as racist and degrading, without the actual investigation on the whole situation by the journalist the Universities image was completely destroyed but through the investigations done by the journalists the universities image was restored.

 Journalists are important because
  • Journalist gives any organization a chance to reveal their true self.
  • Before publishing any new story they first need to do a research or investigation for that story
  • They provide relevant news for their stakeholders hence there is news about the economy, politics, and entertainment, industrial and business news.
  • They try to remain objective and therefore most news will not have personal agendas
  • They also have to be ethical at all times because they are charged responsible for anything they post or share with the public
  • They ask relevant questions to the relevant sources

 Social media
  •  Anyone can post news
  • It allows immediate responds
  • Yon can also subscribe to the news feeds of your choice
  • You can have a two way news communication

Journalism and social media
This video says a lot about both social media and journalism's importance

evolution of news

At this stage journalism is still very active, the only difference is that social media can be used for research purposes and also for sharing information.

New research

So i conclude by saying journalism is still very important and should not be taken by granted because for every news there is we can always count on journalists to get the correct facts

Freedom of speech

I am Charlie
My right of expression
I am permitted to voice out my thoughts

Whenever I come across the tragedy of the #jesuischarlie I cannot help but experience emotions of anger and sadness. Journalist were brutality killed at the Charlie hebdo headquarters for expressing their opinions through drawing a cartoon.I understand that certain topics such as matters of religion are sensitive but really they can be addressed positively and not with this barbaric behavior.charlie hebdo shooting.
I just wonder what our world is turning into, we are human beings and we have our own opinions on some matters.
I strongly believe that we should be able to express our opinions without fear,be it politics, culture, religion or economy. It is our right as human beings given by the creator Himself.

  •  What is freedom of speech if it cannot be practiced?
  •  What is freedom of speech if I cannot raise my opinions without fear of being killed?

Paris terrorist attack Charlie Hebdo LIVE FOOTAGE SHOOTING UNEDITED this footage truly shocked me, the whole attack is just horrible very cruel, its a full footage for the brave hearts and let me warm you its very heart breaking.
At this stage I also fear for my life as I am about to post the pictures of the suspects who were involve is the shooting.

  • Is this how we are suppose to feel when we want to express our thoughts?
  • Is this the new feeling for freedom of speech?

Jesuischarlie, I am charlie, I will forever share my opinions

Some say no weapon is greater than a pen, and as the former late president of South Africa  Mr Nelson Mandela once said '' for to be free is not merely to cast off one's chain, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others"  to me this words mean I can be whoever I want and I can say whatever I like. I don't understand why violence should be used when ordinary people, journalist and cartoonist express their our opinions in a creative manner. This reminds me of the story where an artist drew the president, yes it was a sensitive issue but it was addressed in a fair manner and not death Joburg Art Fair removes Zuma painting
  • May justice be served
  • May this event never happen again in any part of the world
  • May the Creator have mercy for all our souls, so for do wrong
  • May love dwell in every human being
  • May the saviors arm open wide and forgiveness find out hearts
  • May the Creator protect all journalists and protect our opinions
